A 14-year-old boy, Hassanhii Garrett,  hаѕ bееn charged аѕ аn adult for the attempted murder аftеr he beat his 66-
year-old grandmother wіth a hammer. The beatings didn’t stop until ѕhе was unconscious. Hassanhii Garrett has never been in trouble with the law and family and friends have no clue why he would snap like this.

How is it not against school policies and procedures to stuff a small child into a duffle bag and tighten the drawstrings for “punishment”?

9 year-old autistic boy Christopher Baker was indeed stuffed into a ball bag for punishment at his school by the Special Education teacher’s aide that was supposed to be caring and teaching him. Being a claustrophobic person myself, I couldn’t imagine this ever happening to me. Being a parent, I couldn’t imagine ever having this happen to my child.
Upon further inquiry, mother of Chris B. was found at a brick wall, having confidentiality laws cited to her as an excuse to why this had happened to her son.

But the newly discovered gene can apparently block PKR’s release–a development that not only can reverse the course of degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s, but induces a state of “super memory” in the mice it has been tested on.

It’s insane we have this sort of technology nowadays, yet we still don’t have flying cars or cures for cancer? Either way, I think this is great news! No more forgetting who your loved ones are if you’re old.

“The girl in the blue bra” is what they are calling her. She (who has chosen to remain anonymous) has quickly become the symbol for Egyptian’s trying to put an end to the military power running the country.

In a video that has spread across the world, the woman is seen being dragged by Egyptian officers,had her outer garments ripped, and beaten several times. At one point a soldier even jumps and stomps on her.

It is official, the last of the American troops have left Iraq. Soldiers were seen hugging each other and showing signs of relief and joy. This ends the war that lasted 9 years.

It’s no surprise that the Americans have been criticized for the war and the mayhem that has been left behind; destroyed houses, helpless widows, etc. And many Iraqis wonder how they will ever rebuild after such devastation. “Some Iraqis celebrated the exit of what they called American occupiers, neither invited nor welcome in a proud country“(quote from foxnews.com).

USA president Barack Obama had promised to get the troops out when he came into power and although it took some time, the promise was kept.

It’s sad that so many lives were lost, but did they have to be lost? Looking back on the war, I never fully understood the real point behind it. Is it just me? Did I miss something, or was there truly a purpose behind it that I didn’t see?

Zeitgeist 2011: Year In Review

There is some very unfortunate news for the Duggar family. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar announced that Michelle has had a miscarriage. The stars of the TV show “19 Kids and Counting” will not be having their 20th child : (

This news came after a visit to the doctor for a routine check-up to determine whether the child was a male or female. The doctor said that he could not find a heartbeat. This is the second miscarriage Michelle has had; so technically this would have been there 21st child.

At this time Michelle Duggar is at home resting up and is asking for just a little privacy at this very sad time. All though this moment must be very sad for the Duggar family, I have no doubt that they will try again.
